When we have asked many of you: “What are you the most excited at Devcon4?” Most people answered: people! It is the only time a year that we all meet in the same place. We do not want to spend all our time at Devcon sitting in a dark room, fixing a person on a scene in silence – we want to see, meet and talk to each other.
In this spirit, we design the programming and the environment of DEVCON4 to provide time and space for all of us to establish new connections – between people and ideas. It is a chance for us to ask ourselves the most important questions and to dive deep into the most difficult challenges (and exciting opportunities!) Make Ethereum today.
We will therefore experiment with more participatory programs in Devcon4 this year!
Here are three ways to apply to participate in Devcon4:
- Make a presentation: This is explicit. 😉 Give a 5 -minute speech of lightning or a 20 -minute presentation on the subject of your choice.
- Direct a workshop: Teach people to do something. During 2 hours, participants should “get their hands dirty”, whether by writing code or learning to tell stories.
- Organize an escape room: Be creative and create your own program for Devcon4! Host of DAPP design reviews, facilitate a conversation, make live security reviews, (enter your impressive idea here)
When you apply, we ask you to connect your session to one of the six basic themes:
- Scalability: How can we evolve Ethereum in a secure, decentralized and without confidence way in order to achieve mass adoption?
- Security: How can we ensure the security of user data and funds?
- Confidentiality: How can we allow users to control their own data?
- Developer experience: How can we make development for Ethereum simple, expandable and fun?
- UX & Design: How can we create a more intuitive, usable and delicious experience for our users?
- Company and Systems: Why are we doing Buidl? How will this technology change our societal systems and people in them? (To be clear: it is also a bit of a theme “Catch All” for governance, cryptocurrency, social impact, memes, etc.)
If you want to talk about your DAPP or specific protocol, please do it in the context of one of these shared subjects. How did you identify or solve a common problem? How can your work benefit from the rest of our community?
With ~ 3000 participants and only a lot of time, we expect the requests for participation to be very competitive this year. Please buy your tickets in advance in luck that your submission is not accepted so as not to fail to get a ticket for Devcon4! We will deal with a refund for all those who buy a ticket, then qualify for a free pass.
Please help us create a Devcon4 experience in the minds of these values:
- Participatory: We all create the Ethereum and DEVCON4 ecosystem together should reflect this. In addition to educational talks, DEVCON4 should offer participants the possibility of contributing to the wider conversation and to share the information with each other.
- Educational: As the only event hosted by EF, DEVCON4 is a chance for our community to directly learn managers of the Ethereum ecosystem. Participants should learn things that they could not learn elsewhere.
- Amusing: The main reason why people come to Devcon is to see themselves! Let’s create a unique “Ethereum” family meeting for our community.
