Blockchain investigator ZachXBT alerted the community to a fraudulent meme coin promotion using multiple major X accounts.
According to ZachXBT, the compromised accounts used to promote the fake Solana (SOL) meme currency include those of Yahoo News UK, Lenovo India, Money Control, and People.
X accounts identified as Alexander Lacazette and Oliver Stone have also posted about the fake meme token on Solana. The fraudulent token in question is dubbed HACKED, as seen in screenshots shared by ZachXBT.
ZachXBT provided an update indicating that the scammers have likely lost money.
“So far it looks like the scammers have probably lost money buying this method, as the top traders have barely made around $1,000 and the market cap is $67,000.”

Based on the information available, it appears that the compromised X accounts have given their authorization to the same site or application. In warning the community, ZachXBT advises users to revoke any logins to sites or applications they no longer use.
In August, hackers used French soccer star Kylian Mbappé’s X account to promote a fake MBAPPE meme. Earlier this month, hackers compromised the X accounts of former U.S. President Donald Trump’s family members to promote a fake “World Liberty Financial.”
It is worth noting that Trump unveiled the official crypto project on September 16.
