We are evolving how we build ethereum.org. Since January 20, we have adopted Shape Up Cycles – targeted 6-week build periods followed by 2-week cooldowns. For cycle 1, each project below will ship by the end of February – no automatic carryover to the next cycle.
Small point of clarification: This is the cycle roadmap for the ethereum.org website, not for the Ethereum protocol.
We will ship the following projects by the end of February in our first cycle:
Main improvements to Ethereum.org
Interactive roadmap π£οΈ
Manufacturing Vitalik’s Ethereum Roadmap more beginner-friendly and interactive, helping newcomers understand the evolution and future of Ethereum.
Listen to learn π§
Implemented audio features for key pages, allowing users to listen to articles instead of reading them.
Web3 implementation π
Adding native Web3 features to ethereum.org for the first time: wallet connections and direct integration with dapps.
Dashboard Hub π
Create a central location for essential Ethereum tracking tools and community resources. Join our Discord to suggest dashboards that you think should be included!
Content Updates π
Refreshing existing content
One of our highest priorities is ensuring our documentation stays up to date with Ethereum’s rapid evolution. We are carrying out a complete update of the existing content on the site.
New educational content
Work with freelance writers to expand our educational resources and fill content gaps.
Want to help create new Ethereum content? Join us on Discord and ask how you can contribute!
Pectra Updates
Preparing Ethereum.org content for the Pectra upgrade to ensure our community understands these important protocol updates.
Translation quality π
Implement new systems to improve and maintain the quality of translations in all languages.
Non-English experience π
Explore ways to improve the experience for non-English speaking users beyond translations. This could include better feedback systems, user interface improvements, or changes to content organization. We will test different approaches during this cycle.
Migrating UI Components π¨
Work with an existing community contributor to completely migrate Chakra UI components to Shadcn by end of cycle.
Application Router Migration β‘
Implemented server components to improve performance and loading times.
Ecosystem projects
ethproofs.org π
Launching Very Soonβ’: A new platform to track zkVM capabilities, supporting Ethereum’s journey toward beamchaining and snarkification.
Launchpad Updates β‘
Updated launchpad.ethereum.org to support MAXEB changes for validators.
Project support π¨
- Robust Incentives Group (RIG): Support EF’s research team on branding, web design and development.
- Geodework project: branding and website design (more details soon!)
Engagement on social media π±
Starting a more active presence on the platforms to better interact with the Ethereum community. Initial objective:
- More regular updates on our work and progress
- Highlight community contributions
- Share educational content
- Establish deeper connections with the ecosystem
Distribute acknowledgments to 2024 notable contributors
Looking to the future
Once Cycle 1 is completed in February, we will take a 2-week cool-down period to reflect on our deliverables and plan for the next cycle. We’ll post an update during cooldown to share what we’ve delivered and what we’ve learned!
