He would also have been the pirate behind the November 2023 feat of Kyberswap, which cost the protocol and its users about $ 48 million in crypto. The pirate later sent about $ 2 million in crypto to a digital portfolio that would be controlled by MedoDovic.
MedoDovic faces five accusations, including fraud, money laundering and extortion. He did not respond to several requests for comments on Monday.
A math prodigy from Canada, MedoDovic has been on the run since the financial feat indexed in 2021.
But he insisted that the feat was legal. He simply took advantage of a flaw in the design of the protocol, he said in a back and forth online with the victims.
This defense of the code is recently failed a test with the American Federal Court when a Manhattan jury condemned the merchant of Rogue Avraham Eisenberg of the fraud of the mango markets, an exchange based in Solana, Eisenberg, had exploited in Using a technique similar to that of MedoDovic.

Although he dodged questions about the indexed feat, MedoDovic insisted that he had turned to ethical hack because he offered a “mode of being more sustainable”.
He also repeatedly directed the conversation to his social opinions, making misogynist and racist comments.
Several months later, a pirate managed a complex break that drained Kyberswap, a decentralized exchanger of exchanges, of around 48 million dollars.
DL News confirmed that a portfolio connected to the Kyber operator had sent $ 2 million to a portfolio associated with MedoDovic.
The pirate also demanded Kyber control in exchange for a return of certain funds.
Prosecutors allege that Medjedovic was indeed the person who hacked Kyberswap. They instructed him to defraud the aggregator and his suppliers of liquidity and to extort his developers and members of Kyberdao.
They also allege that Medjedovic tried to whiten the product of indexed exploits and Kyberswap using an unnamed crypto mixer.
In the wake of the feat of indexed finance, Medjedovic wrote another user: “I did something very cool but made me accidentally make me dissatisfaction. I may be on the run forever now, ”according to the indictment. “Need advice on becoming a pirate.”
The accusation act also alleys that Medjedovic has maintained digital documents detailing its money laundering plans. One of these documents included a note to “order a thinkpad (laptop) to store crypto + hacks”, according to the indictment.
In the wake of Kyberswap’s feat, MedoDovic tried to move the stolen crypto of a layer 2 and on Ethereum blockchain but was blocked by its developers, according to the indictment.
He wrote to his assistance team, demanding that they allow the transaction to continue, according to the indictment; Otherwise, he “would alert the authorities”.
“You want to alert the authorities … that you hacked Kyber and stole user funds .. ??” Someone from the support team responded.
“Yes,” said MedoDovic, according to the indictment. “Committing a crime against someone who can be a criminal is still a crime.”
Laurence Day, co-founder of the indexed, said that the potential arrest of MedoDovic would have little impact on the victims of the feat in 2021.
Indeed
“The vast majority of what he stolen was stolen in turn,” Day told DL News.
“I cannot explain how it would get rid of the restitution in the end since it has attacked several protocols, but in my opinion, it is at least a closing chapter in indexed history.”
