Previously created in 2017 by the digital asset company Larva Labs, Cryptopunks is a digital art project with a limited set of 10,000 unique characters hosted on the Ethereum Blockchain network. This NFT collection has challenged traditional notions of art, property and community. Their influence extends far beyond the blockchain, triggering a cultural change which continues to reshape our digital world.
The Cryptopunks NFT collections have been created to be really decentralized and have become a determining example of digital permanence and online network effects. The Cryptopunks NFT collection has become one of the largest NFT collections on the world market in NFT, generating more than $ 377 million in secondary sales in only 2024. Before recently landing in the hands of an infinite knot, punks were under the good care of the digital asset company Yuga Labs.
The Infinite Node Foundation, a renowned non-profit allocation dedicated to the conservation of digital art, acquired the complete intellectual property rights of cryptopunks from the Creator of Yacht Ape Ennet Yubs Yuga Labs earlier this month. This purchase has ensured long -term management of punks and launched an ambitious museum partnership program to integrate them into leading artistic institutions worldwide.
During the acquisition, Node shared that he would be determined to manage the heritage of the art of cryptopunks through three pillars of preservation, community and expansion. This includes the creation of a network architecture that will allow the study of digital arts and cryptopunks to be under study, exposed and contextualized within digital and artistic canons. Infinite Node was the first non -profit organization to acquire complete IP rights on a major work of art.
