Mark Uyeda, acting chairman of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, on Tuesday launched a cryptocurrency task force dedicated to developing a comprehensive and clear regulatory framework for digital assets.
In doing so, Uyeda tapped Commissioner Hester Peirce to lead the task force, which will work with SEC staff and the public to place the agency on a “reasonable regulatory path that respects the bounds of the law.”
